Event Details

In honor of Women’s History Month the nonprofit WOMANIFESTING (WOMA), in collaboration with the DC Public Library, will host a panel discussion entitled:

WOMANIFESTING IN ACTION: How Local Women Leaders Make A Difference Through Community Building, Collaboration and Social Activism

The event will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, 901 G St., NW, Room A-5 from 2pm - 4 p.m.

 

The discussion will be moderated by Marita Golden, Acclaimed Author, Master Literary Teacher and Co-Founder of the Hurston/Wright Foundation (“www.maritagolden.com”), along with Nikita Mitchell, Gen Y Writer/Blogger,  who was recently named one of the Top 10 Nonprofit Bloggers to Watch in 2011 (“www.nikitatmitchell.com”).                         

Yasmine Arrington, a high school student in Washington DC, will serve as Keynote Speaker for the event. Arrington is credited with starting a college scholarship fund for aspiring college students with incarcerated parents.
